Weston's 4 month old appointment!

Weston is 17 lbs (92% for weight)
He is 26" tall (93% for height! He's going to need a new car seat at 28". Which would actually be nice because lugging him around in his car seat is SOOOOO HEAVY!)
His head circumfrence is 45%.
He's just so darling and wonderful, we love him so much and can't believe how he's growing every minute of the day!
We started to feed him baby rice cereal. He likes it!

My, how he's grown! I thought it would be fun to show the pic I took at his first Dr. apt and see the difference!

Quick Review

Grandpa should know better than to fall asleep while we're at his house by now! (I'll look for the silly one we took in the summer too and post it.)

We had a sleepover at Grandma's house.

Weston sitting up like a big boy in his bumbo seat!

Weston found his thumb, and loves to suck on this fingers and anything else he can get a hold of.
Ski free after 3 at Alta. I went with Brett once, and with my friend, Kelsy. Can't beat free skiing for an hour and a half. Weston sat up on his own for Grandma! Weston laughs now! Especially for Daddy! I try to make him laugh, but he either just smiles for me. It's pretty funny! Nobody's as funny as Daddy! =) We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. We love our families! Christmas Eve we did our annual shindig at Brett's parents where we got our matching jammies and take a picture, eat a spread of different cheeses and breads for dinner, then sing our 'Happy Birthday, Jesus' song. And this year, since we have kids we got to sing the 3rd verse: "Christmas is for children, and now I have my own. Their eyes are full of wonder when all the gifts are shown. But I'll give them something better than anything that's on TV, something very special, something made forever- this melody. Church bells ringaling, angels singaling, Happy Birthday Jesus! Sleighbells jingaling, snowflakes tingaling, happy birthday Jesus! All year long we wait, just to celebrate this Christmas morn' 'cause we want you to know, we're SO GLAD YOU WERE BORN! So have a merry, verry, happy birthday, Jesus." We went up to Park City for one last time with my Marriott discount and stayed at the Summit Watch Resort. It was so much fun! Weston went swimming for the frist time and loved it! We also stayed at the SLC City Center Marriott and Brett and I went ice skating at Gallivan Plaza while my parents played with Weston. It was so much fun and it was snowing big snow flakes- it was all magical. So, I had my last day at work at Marriott. It's been really niec to stay at home with Weston. Although, we hardly ever actually "stay home" too much. We like to go visit grand parents and cousins and go on walks outside when it's nice, or inside at the mall when it's not, because we get bored at home. We even went to see Body Worlds when it was in Salt Lake. It was really cool! The thing I'm missing the most about work now, is my co workers! I have no one to talk about the Bachelor to! No one else I know watches it!

Kiddie Kandids pics taken by my friend Debbie

We saw this cute outfit while shopping at Babies R US on sale, but it was in size 3/6months. We tried it on thinking maybe he could wear it for his blessing/sealing at the end of March. We think he'll grow out of it by then because he's such a big kid, but he ended up spitting up on it, so we kind of had to buy it. Ha,ha. But, we got good use out of it because we saw Debbie at Kiddie Kandids and she offered to take some pictures of Weston which were SOOO cute! Plus, he can wear it till he grows out of it. Thanks for catching those smile pics, Deb! It is SO HARD to actually catch those on camera!

3 Months Old

Who says you can't play dress up with boys? LOL

I can't believe it's been 3 months since Weston was born, but in some ways it seems like Weston's been our baby forever. I tell him to stay little, but he defies me by the minute it seems. He's getting to be so BIG! He's so cute! My love for him never ceases to amaze me as it grows every day. His eyes really are full of wonder lately as he's discovered lights on Christmas Trees and smiles big and GOO's and AAAUUUOOOOh's. He loves the weekends because he gets lots of Daddy time. He just can't get enough of Daddy's voice fluctuation and stories and funny noises. He is definitely a Daddy's boy and I just love to see the two of them interact- it keeps me laughing all the time. It's been quite a while since I posted, but we've just been wrapped up in enjoying every moment with our baby and Brett's busy with finals this week.

Even though Weston is too young to remember the Holidays- just having a baby makes every Holiday so exciting and special! We've already enjoyed Halloween & Thanksgiving together and I can't wait for Christmas! We are definitely on cloud 9 every day we have together as a family.

My heart goes out to the South Jordan couple who got their 6 month old adopted baby boy taken away from them. The birth dad did not sign the adoption papers and the bmom did, but changed her mind afterwards. Since Native American laws to protect children worked in thier favor to trump state laws for this legal adoption, the boy was removed from his home with his adoptive parents. Funny thing is, he won't even be raised by the birthparents, but most likely a relative or someone else in the tribe because bmom is unfit due to addictions and bdad has no intentions of raising him. It's just so hard to understand why the bparents would take him away from his happy home just so he can be put in someone else's home who probably isn't in an ideal situation to care for the child like the parents who were waiting, hoping, and praying for 5 years for a child. And on a less important note, but to add to the adoptive parents devastation, the adoption fees were THOUSANDS and thousands of dollars, plus he wasn't born healthy due to bmoms drug use and so even more thousands of dollars in hospital bills came and they will be left with all of those, and without a child.

Makes me feel so grateful all over again (as if I ever stopped) for Weston's birthparents who have been so great, and the blessing that our adoption has gone so smoothly it has. They have truly and selflessly had Weston's best interest in mind. Brett and I will always try to live up to being the best parents we can be.

More updates and pictures.

Weston's grandma bought him a jacuzzi tub. Not only is he no longer bathing in the sink, he is bathing in luxury. Well his first chance to use it was the day if his 2week older cousin's baby blessing. He never liked bathing before, but he loves his tub. His favorite part is to stick his feet next to the jet and just let the water splash over his them (it splashes everywhere else too).

I'm getting ready for my cousin's baby blessing.

I'm told that I will get to be blessed in another 4-5 months. I'll get to go to the temple then too.

I'm ready to go. I can't wait to see everyone.

Congratulations, Cousin! You are my best friend.

Weston continues to grow every day. At 3 weeks, he was 6lbs 14oz (3rd percentile), 20 1/2 inches (26th percentile) and had HC (head circumference) percentile of 7. When he went into the doctor for his 2 month check-up, he was 12 lbs (53%), 24 inches long (83%) and HC 19%. He has been playing catch-up like crazy. He's even passed his older cousin in size and eats 5oz at a time.

I'm getting so big. I can hold my head up, and I got to play sheriff.

Weston, we are so proud of you and how well you are growing and developing.

Nearly 2mo's old and growing

With Dr. Brett in the house and Nicky dressed as a witch, Weston was bee'ing very good. When we put him in his costume, he even started buzzing. But it sounded a little more like a cry, so he stayed dressed up just long enough for a few pictures.

Getting Bigger

Now that Weston has experienced a major holliday, he decided that he was a big boy, and he grew to fit the part. We did a quick survey and took his measurements at home. We discovered that Weston now weighs 11lbs and is 23inches long. As you can see, he looks pretty big on Nicky for being less than 8 weeks old (2 months on Nov 8).

The outfit he has on in this picture is a 3mo size outfit (not 0-3mo). All of his newborn stuff is starting to get tight on him, especially when he stretches. This kid has long limbs and a good sized neck. I held his little newborn cowboy sleeper and felt sad that he will never be that small again.

Last Thurs he started coo'ing at me and Nicky while I was holding him before going to work. Today he gave us his first, genuine smile. I've been really fortunate to be with him for nearly all of his milestones so far. With my crazy schedule, it's pretty amazing. I think he tries to save them for me. He really seems to know what's going on. Its just amazing! I really think he is amazing and I love him very much.

Weston's a bee for Halloween! This costume was actually made for a small dog, but you probably won't think me too inhumane after seeing how cute he is in it. =) Ha,ha.
